The 15th annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators contest winners was announced at the conclusion of the Southern Kentucky Festival of Books on Saturday, April 18th,  2009 at 3pm.  (see timeline for details).

Below you’ll find a contest timeline, contest rules, and entry forms - (duplicate as needed). The deadline for entry was March 31st.  Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the Southern Kentucky Festival of Books on Saturday, April 18th,  2009 at 3pm.

Maybe you’re new to the contest or mayble you’re one of the dedicated participants who make it an annual tradition.  We’re excited to have you participate in this annual contest that opens childrens minds to the joy of reading and writing.

Drop-off Locations:
Drop your entry into the colorful bookworm containers at the following Bowling Green locations after Feb. 6, 2009:

Barnes & Noble, Children’s section
Bowling Green Public Library, Main Branch
Bowling Green Public Library, Bob Kirby Branch

Also, members of the WKYU-PBS staff will be on hand at Barnes &Noble from 3-5pm CT on 03/31/09 to collect entries.

Winners Celebration – Local winners announced at the 2009 Southern Kentucky Festival of Books, April 18th at 3pm CT in Ballroom D of the Sloan Convention Center, Bowling Green, KY.

Youngsters got a kick-start by attending a writing workshop held Friday, February 6th at Barnes & Noble booksellers in Bowling Green. Very Special Arts Kentucky Director Ginny Miller shared some tips on writing and illustrating a
